We had beautiful weather this year for our annual Walk in the Park event that raises money for our children’s literacy and family support programs. We are honoured by the support we receive from our community, including from our sponsor, Field of Dreams Foundation, and our many walkers, pledge collectors and donors. This year we raised more than $5,000 from the event which will make a huge difference in the lives of the children and families we help through our programs.

Walkers gathered at Winnipeg’s St. Vital Park on June 15 for the event. We completed a 2 km walk and then enjoyed a barbecue together. Our youth program coordinator, Michael Vidal, organized some fun games that were a hit with attendees.

The walk was a chance to have fun and enjoy the beautiful weather, but more than that, it reminded us how fortunate we are to receive such tremendous backing from those around us. We see the difference our programs make in the lives of children, families, teens and adults every day, and are constantly working to provide the expertise and time our participants need to overcome their learning disabilities and experience full productive lives. We so appreciate those who come alongside us to aid us in our efforts.

If you would like to find out more about the programs we offer, or would like to make a gift to help us in our life-changing work, visit our website, or contact us at (204) 774-1821.
