Resource for Teachers – Identify a Student with a Learning Disability

As a Manitoba teacher, it can be difficult to know if a child in your class has a learning disability or if he or she just struggles with a particular lesson. One of the best things you can do is to educate yourself on different types of learning disabilities, their signs and symptoms.

The Arrowsmith Program—a program designed specifically for children with learning disabilities—has a Chart of Learning Dysfunctions and Learning Outcomes that helps identify how our brains work, and some challenges a student may have if he or she has a learning disability.
