Dyspraxia

Problems with movement and coordination, language and speech

A disorder that is characterized by difficulty in muscle control, which causes problems with movement and coordination, language and speech, and can affect learning.

  • It primarily affects motor coordination and planning skills rather than directly impacting cognitive abilities related to academic learning.

  • Individuals with dyspraxia may experience challenges in educational settings due to difficulties with tasks requiring fine and gross motor skills.

  • These challenges may include handwriting, organization, and physical activities.

  • While dyspraxia is not considered a learning disability in the traditional sense, individuals with dyspraxia may benefit from additional support and accommodations in educational environments.

Although not a learning disability, Dyspraxia often exists along with Dyslexia, Dyscalculia or ADHD.
